It’s late Thursday afternoon, it’s almost the start of MDW, the weather has been so nice this week and because it’s officially the start of Summer- I’m wearing my denim shorts. This style is the short version of the alex boyfriend jeans I’ve previously styled here. It’s super innovative that Jag Jeans has the same distressed style in a pants and shorts version so that the style can get wear no matter what season it is. Normally, I’m a short-shorts kind of girl, mostly because I feel they give me length and are in proportion with my shorter frame; however these relaxed knee-length shorts have seriously changed my perspective. First off, they’re very soft which makes them lay very well. Secondly, the distressed rips and cuts give these shorts more edge, letting them break away from the ‘mom-shorts’ stigma that often comes with this style. I truly love them.

I styled them with a white sweater, since some days have their cooler moments. I added the western style belt and tucked in just the front of the sweater so that I could wear a loose fitting piece on the top and the bottom, but still have it look put together and not sloppy. Heels are always a must and the tie-up style in a snake print is the perfect complement to the rest of the outfit. A neutral bucket bag is the outlier in terms of the color palette but pulls everything together in a simple minimal type of way.

I’m so excited for this weekend, though it’s jam packed with events. Friday will likely be an impromptu bar outing with friends but Saturday will be a family BBQ and then right to the shore to spend the weekend at my grandma’s house. Most likely I’ll be rushing home late Monday night so I can get decent rest before the start of the work week and the month-end close at my accounting job. But it’s all worth it! Can’t wait to binge out on BBQ food and have a good time with my friends and the fam.

Hope you enjoy your long weekend! xo

I love the way you styled those shorts. They look great with the shoes and top. I may have to go get a pair =)

Thank you Lydia! They’re so flattering too and soft! It can be hard to fid shorts that have more length to them these days and a pair that’s long and distressed is so rare. Glad to have these. xo
