I know that this dress is a little different and also a little bright, but for some reason I just really like it. It’s flowy and short and has a low v-back which I styled purposefully letting my yellow lace bra peak out. It’s one of those summer dresses that will look great with a tan either for a day of walking the boardwalk or out for dinner.

I have to admit though, when it came to shoe choice, it was somewhat of a challenge. I didn’t know where to begin, but decided for a stiletto since the dress is loose fitting, the heel would give it some height. I did almost decide on nude heels, since a neutral compliments any color, but wanted to go out of my comfort zone and started grabbing heels off of my shoe shelf and trying them on to see what clicked. I got to these blue suede mules and liked them immediately. I think the almost denim look of them compliments the yellow in a cool tone direction. Luckily, I had a cute little blue clutch in the same blue shade family as the shoes. I kept the jewelry gold and dainty and same for the sunglasses choice.

We are almost half way through the week, super excited about the holiday weekend. See you back here on Friday for a MDW denim shorts outfit post.

Thanks for reading!

Wow! This dress is just lovely! I’ve had my eye on this one, but I am not too crazy about the color. But now, you’re making me regret that decision!

Abby- thanks! And the thing about the color was my first thoughts too, but after styling it, I was glad I took the risk. I think yellow would look great on you as well- you should give it a try!

Thanks Jessica! I thought so too, a little feminine, a little flowy, a little flirty- perfect for summer!

Thank you Candace! It was out of my comfort zone for this color combo (I always go for a tan or neutral) but I’m glad it worked out. The bottom is really pretty- another great detail about this dress.

I’m kind of afraid of yellow but this looks so amazing especially with your hair color!

Thank you Lauren! Don’t be afraid to try new things, I think you could pull it off as long as you feel confident in what you decide to wear. Thanks for reading!

I love the pale blue with the pale yellow combo! So summery and light and pretty! And I am always jealous of women who can wear that pale shade of yellow and look fantastic in it as you do!

Thank you so much for your really kind compliments! Yellow can be a weird color to wear but I think most can pull it off- I’m sure you would look great in any type of yellow piece xo
