Flash tattoos are something I’ve always admired from afar but never thought I could pull them off for a look. My first ever flash tattoo experience is with Paperself and let me just say, I am now a huge fan. Paperself is a UK based company that ships international and they offer temporary wearable art for your body and eye lashes. The thing I thought was incredibly cool was that they were featured in The Hunger Games as part of Effie’s eye-makeup.
I love how Paperself offers their tattoos in packs that have a styled look to them. I chose the ‘Ruby the Leopard’ pack because I like the black chainlink that’s accentuated very subtly with gold. I wanted to mix it with the Rocky Rubies pack which features gold with pops of ruby red. Each pack comes with two sheets which is more than enough to give you your flash tattoo fix for the next few outfits.
I opened my packs of tattoos and began to cut them out as if they were pieces of jewelry. As I was doing this, I became really inspired. Who’s to say you have to wear them on your arms only? I applied a chainlink styled piece as a ring, another piece in the fashion of a hand chain and combined a few different pieces to create a layered arm bangle look. As for applying them, the process is super easy- just peel away the plastic covering, apply to your skin with a damp cloth and it instantly sticks with no mess. I now see why all of the celebs are obsessed with these.
I was going for a boho-glam vibe when styling my tattoos and thought they went perfectly with this short sleeved dressed which gave me the freedom to put the tattoos on my upper arm. I still have some left and plan on wearing them with my Halloween look and even for a night out in the city, so many ideas lol. Also feeling daring enough to try the eyelash tattoos next, we’ll see.
Be sure to check out the Paperself press gallery here and I hope you feel just as inspired as I did to put these unique aotd’s with your next ootd.
Thanks for reading and enjoy your weekend
